Subject: Brandnew Old Timer Here!
Good morning!

My name is Ron and I am reentering the world of fitness after a 6 year hiatus.
Some folks around me are calling me crazy, and too old to turn this corner of life and dedicate myself to fitness.

Back in the late 80s early 90s, I was a committed Mountain Biker, yes that's what I said. The sport was in its infancy and has come along way since the days of converted road bikes and no suspension to what it is today.

I mastered Muay Thai and was a competitive MB racer in my prime.
And 6 years ago, I was mainly running 6 miles a day and strength training, considering moving into Cross Fit training

I am currently 57 years old and looking at competing inn my first Tri by the time I turn 60.

I am stoked to have found this site and am hoping to be able to meet my fitness goals

Thanks for any advice foo the old guy here!

Here's my advice.....enjoy every minute of it.

And the people who say you're too old...they're the crazy ones.....here's another bit of advice....

You're 57? When the guy goes slamming by you on the run...and you look down at his leg and see that he's 62...don't be discouraged....you'll know you're not too old.

Happens to me all the time and I'm 47.

Input from a 53-year-old whippersnapper...it doesn't take 3 years to get ready for a tri!  I did my first about 3 weeks after committing to it.

Welcome to Triathlon, youngster!

I’m 63 and still going out training, racing and having a ball. It’s a great sport.

Enjoy the journey!
