Subject: Greetings


I am new to the tri world. I am 49 year old male in Texas and have been training for about 3 months. I am doing a sprint tri in The colony in March. I an using a program i found on the internet and its going ok. The program is actually for a full marathon so i adjust it accordingly. Any tips would be great. I am looking into heart rate or zone training. Honestly. I am just wanting to finish this. Is that bad?

Its great. Finishing is a lot more work than not trying at all. Your body and mind will both be changed from it. I am headed into my third season. Still very much a newbie. Enjoy the training. And enjoy race day. I had a lot of fun just finishing. I went slow and safe and enjoyed the small things

Only advise during training is dont overdo it. Come back another day is my mantra to stay injury free

Welcome to the board...

There's a button upper left for triathlon training plans, including freebies. I would counsel taking a look at one of those...

Good luck with your training but be forewarned; these things are addictive!

Throw away the marathon training program. It will screw you up.

There are lots of free sprint tri programs on the web. Do yourself a favor and get a plan that is specific to triathlon.
