Comments: Swimming out to the first buoy, I felt a bit out of breath with the temperature of the water. Upper 60s, if I remember correctly? Told myself to slow the heck down, as this event was serving as my warm up for the 2250m. The overcast sky meant glare was minimal, and sighting was a cinch. Felt calm and strong the whole time, and more than ready to tackle the next event. Post race
Warm down: Bundled up in a towel and tried to keep warm while the 1500m athletes began their event. Event comments: Love Racine Multisports! I did SwimFest last year, and I hope to make it a tradition. Maybe even do the 4500 next year?!?! Last updated: 2019-04-15 12:00 AM

This was part of a long weekend with the in-laws in Front Royal. I got up around 5am and had a beautiful morning out on the deck, listening to the river. Everyone piled into the car, only for us to realize that what we thought was a 30 minute drive to the race site was actually going to be 45 minutes. Whoops!
We parked, I checked in and got my swag, shimmied into my wetsuit, and just like that they were calling for the 750m athletes.
