Subject: Training Methodology Does anyone have any experience with any type of training that isn't classic periodization. Thought about reverse periodization but can't find any written out plans. Although I realize I can just swap base and Build from a regular plan.
Looking to change things up a little. Been doing TRI for 7 years. Swam in High School on a serious team. The first two or three years of TRI I made a bunch of progress. First year just randomly working out. The second year I used periodization hours but the workouts were mostly random. After that, started using purchased plans, this made my performance solid, but no big progress. Don't have huge money to hire a regular coach.
Just suffered a bike crash were a had a brain bleed and concussion and won't be able to race the rest of the year, so I have a bunch of time to try something new and figure out if something else would work and wondering if anyone else has successfully bucked the periodization system.
