Pre-race routine:

Breakfast was a muesli bar and a coffee, 1 & 1/2 hours before the race. Also drank 500ml water before the race.

Comments:

Really hot day especially with the heat radiating off the pavement. I'm glad I only did the 5km it was a real struggle, but I didn't stop. I think I got a bit of heatstroke as I spent the rest of the day in bed!!! Other people in our group didn't fare well either - some got stomach cramps, everyone was exhausted. I was really disappointed with my time but considering how hard it was, I'm not going to be too hard on myself.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I am a really slow runner. Don't know whats going to change that. I ran all the way, yet came behind people who ran/walked!!!
