Who does that?

So I signed up for a local Sprint Triathlon this Saturday.  I was supposed to do package pick-up tomorrow at a place 10 minutes from my house that I pass on my way home from work.  I got a notice today that that location is no longer being used and I can either do package pick-up tomorrow at a location an hour from where I live or on Friday at the site of the race which is 30 minutes from where I live.  What?  Who makes those types of changes the week of the race? 

What are the craziest or most annoying things you guys have seen after you were signed up for a race (IM 70.3 Lubbock cancelation two days before the race?  Other?)?
