Comments:

Ride went very well. I wasn’t ‘feeling great this morning, but flew through the swim and headed out on the bike. Didn’t feet great on the hills, but kept it in the big chainring and felt better by the first turnaround. Flew back into the stadium to start lap 2. Both laps were almost identical in time, within 10 sec of each other. Kept it manageable on the uphillls, and pushed coming back down them.
What would you do differently?:

No thing. Was about 6 min faster than last year on the same course. Very pleased with it.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and ate a bit. Luckily, was able to sneak my bike out to transition as soon as I finished, so didn’t have to wait around too long. I won the aqua bike overall, but didn’t;’ wait around for prizes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing

Event comments:

Great hometown race. The current in the river was huge this morning. My times in the race vary between 9 and 18 mins though. I was glad it was quick today. The bike was great for me. Well organized, great post-race spread nad food.

Suit: Short sleeve
Course: Down current swim in the Cumberland, jumping off the general Jackson boat. I was the first one in the water, and had great visibility the whole way. Sited well, the current was STRONG!!! The Sprint racers were jumping off the dock for a 300yd swim, and I was passed by only 1 person from when I started until I made it to the dock. Was tired by the end and form was waivering, but I stayed very straight and on course. Breast stroked a bit towards the end but with teh current, was still flying. 8 min faster than last year.
