Sunny
Total Time = 1h 24m 52s
Overall Rank = 221/883
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 26/65
Event warmup:

Not much at all. It was an early start, and we had to be bussed over to the swim start.
I got in the water and did about 200yds, that's it.
Swim
  • 22m 7s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 21s / 100 yards
Comments:

Challenging swim for the 1st time I've done it.
I was never quite sure where I was going, but made the best of following/drafting the other swimmers.
What would you do differently?:

Next year, I'll know the course better. I felt incredibly fast at the start, and actually was leading early.
But, fell back and got into my pace.
Transition 1
  • 02m 40s
Comments:

Lost about 10-15 secs with the wetsuit.
Starting on the bike really felt week.
What would you do differently?:

I should practice the wetsuit transition.
Bike
  • 33m 18s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 22.40 mile/hr
Comments:

Got passed initially, then was able to hold my position and pass a couple riders.
What would you do differently?:

I could've pushed harder initially out of the transition and wouldn't have dropped so much time.
Transition 2
  • 01m 52s
Comments:

A pretty slow transition here too.
What would you do differently?:

I just wasn't focused here, and lost another chunk of time because of it.
It would help for me to give some training time to the transitions as well!
Run
  • 24m 56s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt like I ran a quick pace for me! But I got passed the ENTIRE 5k! I almost ran sub-8min miles, and still wasn't able to hold my position in the race.
Here's where the focus will be in the off-season!!!
I felt great off the bike, and was able to bring it home in a pretty good sprint.
What would you do differently?:

It all comes down to training. I feel great about the run I had, other than tons of guys passing me.
Post race
Warm down:

Felt like I was going to puke at the finish line, but that subsided quickly.
Grabbed some water, cytomax and a 1/2 banana.
Felt good in about 5 minutes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

For my ability and amount of time I have to train, I'm happy with this race!
I impressed myself with the swim and bike, disappointed myself with the transitions, and was satisfied with the run.

Event comments:

I'll be back next year.
