Pre-race routine:

Cliff bar for breakfast. Got to the race site about 7am. Watched the teams go off, talked to some fellow competitors and got ready to swim.
Event warmup:

Wish they had a pool to warm up in, but the didn't, so i just streched out a bit.

Comments:

Good time for me. Only had to stop at one turn to go around someone. There was a little bit of a pile up at the ladder trying to get out of the pool, which cost me a few seconds.

Dropped a little about a minute from the June Race
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really!
Transition 1

Comments:

I lost about five seconds at the mount/dismount line trying to get my foot into the cage.

Comments:

This bike leg was great! I flew and was having a really good time too! I drank two water bottles full, had a hammer gel, and was still really thirsty! Oh yeah, and most importantly i stayed on my bike this time.

Dropped five minutes from the June Race
What would you do differently?:

Make sure to hydrate well the night before and morning of the race. Trade my morning soda for water.

Comments:

Good here, grabbed a drink of gatorade and off i went!

Comments:

OKAY, so this run course has to be short, even shorter than 4.8 cause i don't run this fast. I know the course and i didn't short cut, but i just don't run at that speed. Even on really really good days. And while i felt awesome on the run and felt like i was running fast, i just don't think i ran that fast. So maybe the course was short. Even so i dropped five minutes from the june race. I felt really parched the whole run. Couldn't drink enough water.
What would you do differently?:

Hydrate better.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and talked to some more competitors. Waited for the awards, and then off to play some softball!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of hydration the night before and moring of the race.

Event comments:

I think this was my best race all season. I just felt like i was flying, and i had a really good time. It was just soo much fun!! I love this sport. The fact that i placed and dropped 11 minutes from my time in June was just icing on the cake. Can't wait til next year's race.

Course: The swim this time around was so much better than in the June race. The two girls in front of me were good swimmers, so i didn't have to pass anyone right away and when i did have to pass people the lanes were big enough to do so. I am getting the hang of the flip turns, and pushing off into the next lane. I only had to stop at one wall because of someone being there.

Great race! It's really awesome just to get out there, have an absolute blast and have a kick butt time.

I was at the run course. I spent most of the time at the split in the trail telling people to go right or "head back the way you came." When I wasn't there, I was at the end of the trail where you start running through the subdivisions. Next year, we have to get better about meeting all these folks!

So, what's the plan for your off season?
