Total Time = 1h 12m 1s
Overall Rank = 2/19
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 1/5
Pre-race routine:

Woke up earlier than I had wanted so I meditated for about 15 minutes. I had gotten everything ready the night before so I got to the race early...got everything set up. I had a bowl of cereal early, coffee, and a lot of water. I must have peed five times before the race.
Event warmup:

I ran twice up and down some hills for a few minutes. I stretched in between. I really stretched my back out last night and kept moving it before the race.
Run
  • 17m 18s
  • 2 miles
  • 08m 39s  min/mile
Comments:

I just went all out and felt like I might vomit at several points.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I went as hard as I could
Transition 1
  • 00m 57s
Comments:

I had planned on leaving my shoes on the bike but the ground was too muddy.
Bike
  • 34m 15s
  • 10 miles
  • 17.52 mile/hr
Comments:

My gears were slipping a bit on the bike. Other than that, I had a good ride. It felt like I was riding faster than 17.5 mph...I don't know if it was the wind or the high heart rate from the run...
What would you do differently?:

Adjust my gears before the race
Transition 2
  • 00m 50s
Comments:

I stopped and took a drink before this last run...I had to get my strength back up for those hills.
Run
  • 18m 40s
  • 2 miles
  • 09m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt so slow. I stopped and walked a couple of times on the steep hills. I was a hurting puppy by this time. Then I saw Mike and the kids from the crest of the hill. I definitely picked up the pace as I came into the finish...Marlee and Madi ran alongside of me. I wasn't expecting them to be there and it was fantastic!
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched a little. Kept moving and rubbing out my legs.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of training. I really think I went as fast as I could have on that day and I'm happy with it.

Sorry to miss your race.  (Bad BTer!).  What fun to have the girls run with you.  Hope your legs are recovering.  Those Du's are tough. You did well.  Congrates.
