Run
Comments: I just went all out and felt like I might vomit at several points. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I went as hard as I could Transition 1
Comments: I had planned on leaving my shoes on the bike but the ground was too muddy. Bike
Comments: My gears were slipping a bit on the bike. Other than that, I had a good ride. It felt like I was riding faster than 17.5 mph...I don't know if it was the wind or the high heart rate from the run... What would you do differently?: Adjust my gears before the race Transition 2
Comments: I stopped and took a drink before this last run...I had to get my strength back up for those hills. Run
Comments: I felt so slow. I stopped and walked a couple of times on the steep hills. I was a hurting puppy by this time. Then I saw Mike and the kids from the crest of the hill. I definitely picked up the pace as I came into the finish...Marlee and Madi ran alongside of me. I wasn't expecting them to be there and it was fantastic! Post race
Warm down: Stretched a little. Kept moving and rubbing out my legs. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training. I really think I went as fast as I could have on that day and I'm happy with it. Last updated: 2006-10-02 12:00 AM

Woke up earlier than I had wanted so I meditated for about 15 minutes. I had gotten everything ready the night before so I got to the race early...got everything set up. I had a bowl of cereal early, coffee, and a lot of water. I must have peed five times before the race.
I ran twice up and down some hills for a few minutes. I stretched in between. I really stretched my back out last night and kept moving it before the race.
