somebody posted a list of what to wear when cycling at certain temperatures. i recall the last temp was below 20f and made some clever comment.

can anybody help me find this information/link to the thread?

I think you're referring to bear's sissy comment about his comforter being the appropriate gear below that temperature.

The thread's in the Gear forum and it's about running.

sadly, that's not it. thanks anyhow marmadaddy. its definitely cycling related and is similar in style to bear's post but has more temperatures on it and what to wear.

Sorry I can't find that thread either.  But I can still offer my own opinion on what to wear.  But like anything, each person is different and has different tolerances.

In Temps below 20f I wear...
-Two Balaclava's over my head and face.
-Two long sleeve jerseys
-Winter Jacket (mid-weight)
-Bike shorts
-Two pair of tights
-Winter weight shoe covers

In temps between 20f and 40f I wear...
-One jersey
-Winter jacket (mid-weight)
-Bike Shorts
-One pair of tights
-Toe covers

Does that help?

PS.  I forgot to add full finger gloves on any cool day.

This (http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=58691&start=1&posts=18  is the thread maramdaddy was referring to, it was on running wear, and my comments were

40-50->Long-sleeve coolmax and shorts

30-40->Layered long-sleeve over short-sleeve, or two long-sleeves

20-30->UnderArmor cold-gear under another LS, maybe a cottonsweatshirt on top until I get started. Lower part of this range, or if it's windy, i'll wear running tights.

below 20-> Outer layer is the comforter on my bed 'cause that's where I'm staying.

Key is to layer, and dress as if it's 10-15 degrees warmer, which is how it will feel when you get warmed up.

Not really, I'm sure many BTers on both sides the pond dream of meeting me. But I'm only one person, my time  is limited....
