I'm not sure.  I know that there are 6 qualifiers but they only take 48 from each one.  So that's 288.  Then there's relay teams and such.  I'm thinking they draw for 1000+ (?).

Odds don't look good, but it's free at least. Unlike other events where you have to pay for a shot at it.

Don't forget to add 100 more. There is a special drawing for one male and female from all 50 states...

PS...I'm in the random dwg as well.

Got a stupid question about this. Is this a drawing like if you get choosen, then you have to pay the $295 entry fee and be like "Yepee, but I still got to shell out 3 bills" OR is this a drawing like "Yepee, I just won the lotto with a free entry!"

Pretty sure you still have to shell out 3 large...

But, on the bright side, it's not as expensive as IM...

Definitely have to pay to race, although you can take a pass (disclaimer: poor etiquette short of an unforseeable injury) should you happen to be drawn.

Lions be damned! I'm in for the drawing.

I applied too. I hope there's no sharks. I already have problems with seasickness.

Which is exactly why I'm going to train one more year before I start entering.    But good luck, my fellow BTers!

Not sure how that would work, don't you have to pay by December for  a July race?  Guess it would have to be a catastrophic injury

Even if there is no injury, i'm not sure how they would force you to pay as you did not give them a credit card number (as you would have had to if you registered the normal way).
