Comments: I started at the back and tried to get in a nice stride right away. It was chilly out, but perfect for running. I need little goals, so I counted the few people I passed (12) and just tried to stay very focused. My first mile was 10:01, 2nd mile was 10:12, and the final 1.2 was 10:42. There was a guy who kept me very motivated, a race walker about 100 yards ahead of me. Man was he fast! I really wanted to pass him, but he always seemed just out of my reach. Finally right at the end I passed him, but wouldn't you know it he passed me back, right before the finish. I was so impressed that someone could walk that fast! I guess I need to work more on speed? What would you do differently?: nothing this time, I felt really good. (Maybe try not to let walkers pass me:)) Post race

Spent the night at Susan's and got up at 6 a.m. Relaxed with a cup of coffee and peanut butter bread. We thought the race started at 8, so were there by 7:30, it didn't actually start until 9. So we found my husnband and kids and took a nice walk and visited. Watched the fun run, lots of kids! And then it was time to head out.
