welcome, mike!

I'm a Leeds-ite at the moment but there's a few Manc heads round here somewhere. Congrats on signing up for the London Oly - I'll see you there!

Hi everyone,

From Milton Keynes and no not all of us are made of concrete. New to this site although in second year of Tri's having many years of running. Amazed by info this site provides and just thought I would add my name to the Brits.

Interested in anyone in Bucks and surround with ideas for Races this year as still to plan my races.

Keep smiling....

Hi - been hanging around on BT for a while but only just found the UK stuff.

Thought I'd chip in to give sunny Birmingham a mention.

I'm hoping to enter the Heartbreaker Triathlon in Milton Keynes, it's in October and it's a full Oly.

I live in Hemel hempstead and have worked in Milton keynes, so not too far then.

Oh yeah, welcome to the site.

Chris+Glen

  Thanks for the kind words

Ive got a few things penciled in for this year, but i have not started swimming yet so a tri will probably not be one of them

I have planned 5 half marathons, first one end of March and a Duathlon in Ipswich in September, then a HIM in 08 and a Full Ironman in 2010

Watch this space

welcome guys, this uk thread is really starting to move now.

excellent work on the weight loss.

if anything in a similar amount of time i may have gotten a little heavier.

i am hoping it is muscle growth

which leads me to my next point on diet. i started a thread concerning how people approach it, any thoughts gladly recieved.

My personally favourite race is the Warwick Sprint Triathlon which they first run last September. They are now planning one for the 14th April plus one in September again. That's another possible race for those of you in the Midlands (esp. you, Panatella. You could cycle from Nuneaton to Warwick!

)

i could cycle it. but then i would have to watch and get the bus home

on a downer at the minute , picked a knee followed by a back injury.

not doing anything is hard work when you have got into the training routine.

Hi Bikegirl
Yes there are some girls here - I am one! There are lots of tri's out there - I'm planning on doing the Timex Women's Only Triathlon at Dorney Lake in Eton as my first one, there are various distances on offer at this event so I'm sure you would find something to suit you. The website is www.humanrace.co.uk I quite like the fact its women's only for the first one, hopefully will be slightly less intimidating.

However also check out www.220triathlon.co.uk/events.asp and www.britishtriathlon.org for other events in your area and around the country.

Hope you find one to suit you

Well...I am an American that lives over here. I live near Huntingdon, CAMBS. If anyone lives near East Midlands or in CAMBS and wants to train PM me and we can get together for some work outs. I am a newbie but like to train.

Also www.tri247.com is a great site for all of the UK's races
