Friends of mine got married on the 4th of July last year before a 4th of July 5K race. The entire race attended prior to the start. He wore a tux t-shirt, and she wore a veil and carried a bouquet for the race. he waited for her at the finish line, picked her up and carried her over.

Hit the play button. Please watch it, it's awesome. The bride and the groom, and the lady in the blue tank top are very, very close friends of mine. It will bring a big smile and tears to your eyes!!!
I remember that piece!!! So cute.
The first year my sorority volunteered for the Columbus Marathon, we were wheelchair runners. So this guy crosses the line, and he sees our letters. Turns out he's an Otterbein alum who was in one of our fraternities. Well, he and his buddy were chatting back and forth, obviously looking for *someone*. And I hear them going, "are you ready?" etc etc. So this woman crosses the line, and he gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him! Of course she said yes . First proposal I've ever seen up close and personal. |
