I wanted to do this race this year but was a chicken....thought I'd need more training so I pushed my first Oly off to the end of Aug, Chicago....

Anyway, looks like you did well! Swim/Bike/Run times all look great! The weather was awesome, wasn't it? Nice Job!!! Anything else in the works for this year???

Congrats, and see you there next year! LW

This was a great race. I was just commenting to my friend this morning I really would like to make this a permanent fixture on my race calendar. However, next year it falls two weeks after the Spirit of Racine 1/2 IM. I am targeting that race as my first 1/2 IM, so I don't know if I will feel good about doing an Olympic distance two weeks after a 1/2 IM.

Next up is Chicago. That is another race that I enjoy. I did the Sprint last year, and am moving up to the Olympic for this year. It will be my last Tri of the Season. Maybe I will see you there!

Great job! What did you think of the course? I plan to do a couple Oly's next year and am looking for some good courses in the WI/IL area.

The course was very good....

Swim was an "L" shaped swim directly across the lake. Water was a little murky, but tasted fine.

Bike was 80% major streets (Rt 12, Rand Rd predomitily). After the 2nd loop, there was about 2 miles of residential sheets that are due for repaving in the next few years, but they weren't terrible.

Run was through a Residential area and then around the lake, mostly side streets and paved paths. The course was a little decieving in that you would see people running directly in front of you, but they were acutally about a mile ahead.

Depending on how 1/2 IM race planning goes for next year, I would love to do this race again.
