Shermbelle - 2007-07-19 8:42 PM  but for Jimmy Buffett Saturday night so Sunday morning might come to soon

Only been to one Buffet concert- had a blast.  He had a great opening line...something like, "Thanks for coming - don't worry, I will spend  your money foolishly"

Jim- when are you going? where are you staying?

Heading down Saturday morning.  Should be a 6 hour drive for me.  Hope to get there early afternoon and get in a short swim in the lake.  I'd like to drive the bike course too just to refresh my memory.

Staying at the Microtel Inn and Suites - its somewhere near the mall.  Number is 262-554-8855

If you want to try to get together to drive the bike course let me know and we can coordinate.  I'm also going to meet up with the BT crew getting together at the Chancery at 6 PM  http://www.thechancery.com/menu/index.cfm

Looks like they don't serve pasta there, so I'm probably going to carbo load at the Olive Garden like we did last year.  Let me know if you want to go to that also.  Looking forward to meeting you and then setting the bar so high on Sunday for the Steelhead crew that they'll give up before even starting their race.

It was fun going to SOR...

I'll give it to Tammy and Jim, they both looked strong. Lets talk about FOCUS! I shouted out to them but I don't think they heard me at any time. Still, I saw tons of people and had a GREAT time.

Photos: (they aren't that good, but I'm not a good photographer so...whatever)

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Those two HOGGED ALL the Lake Michigan karma. I don't think I've ever seen it that flat. I am certain, I will get screwed at Steelhead with 6-7 foot waves.

Athena? I don't even see how that's possible. Did you put some lead in your shoes? I don't know how we missed each other. I lost you during the run part. I knew 6-8 people I knew so I was spread pretty thin.

Hey, pics are great!  I heard people yelling my name all day, sometimes I would yell something back, other times I couldn't come up with anything coherent to yell back.  Trying to figure out how to download those pics.

MSIronman - 2007-07-22 9:50 PM Athena? I don't even see how that's possible.

I couldn't resist giving her a hard time at dinner last night about the last minute Athena decision.  Nice PR Tammy

Honestly- I am guessing its muscle   But  I guessI can handle that.  I am really pretty happy with my time and the fact that I got a nice little plaque (how do you spell that?) makes it even more fun.  Although I think I may have some lead in my head

Jim- you beat me by an hour- I thought youd beat me by more though!!  I think we BOTH need to work on our swims, huh??

I can attest that it is muscle.  She's built for triathlons.

You talking to me?!?!?  Are you saying I suck?!?!?      Yep, this coming winter is the winter that I become a swimmer.  I can't take sucking at it anymore.

Ha- no Im saying I suck

Seriously - if your swim was as strong as your run and bike- you would be even more kick then you are now!

Swimming takes time- I have had a 100% turnaround from last year so I cant complain too much- and I am still slow.  I think I have the swim endurance- I just neeed some speed.  We will get there

I'm a complete disaster in the water. I just don't 'get' it. The first round of coaching did wonders. I think I need more coaching. It's really hard to coach yourself. Well, I have problems with it.

Great job you two. On the swimming subject, I have been told I am a natural swimmer ( just started last November) but I have yet to use it to my advantage in a race. I need to get more physcial and just fight back in the water. I get nervous and let people by me on the swim when they run into me.

Great times, and the show was excellent too!! We always stay at Windy City Campground which is close to the venue and it turns into a Buffett Refugee camp. About 100 tents in a field and a two day party that moves to the parking lot on Saturday afternoon and then to the show at night.

So now that I ate 10,000 calories a day and drank, well a "couple" of beers it is time to get back to work. Now that we see the SOR totals, Team Steelhead has to get down to business!!

Yep, I've already decided that this winter is the winter of THE SWIM.  I've already talked to a swim coach who raced for the U of MN and qualified for Kona.  We're setting up technique sessions and he'll give me a training program.  My ski racing season will probably suffer because of it, but I can't stand sucking at the swim any more.

I swear, I am getting so irritated at all of my aches and pains. I can't wait until after SH to take my 6 weeks off. I need to recoup. I feel as fit as I've ever been but I feel like my body is completely broken. It seems like all I have been doing lately is resting this or that. I am going to swim tonight to test my sprained elbow. It won't be a very hard swim, more like making sure my form is OK and I can go without pain. At least my foot seems fine. I've now had 3 runs without discomfort or pain. Now I just need my elbow and knee to start feeling better. Oh well, I've got 10 days......

I'm better now, I just needed to vent.
