Pre-race routine:

Got up at 3:10 a.m. UGGGHHHHH! I CAN'T BELIEVE I EVEN SAID THAT, MUCH LESS DID THAT!!!!! Made the coffee, got down to Miami early so I'd have plenty of time to get myself parked and together.
Event warmup:

VERY rainy and the American Airlines Arena was open so a lot of folks stayed inside to get out of the rain. Did my potty stops and stretching inside.
Run
  • 1h 56m 15s
  • 13.4 miles
  • 08m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

Didn't have any plans to do a fast time here. Haven't really run much since tri season ended for me 2 months ago, plus I've been sick all week. Had trouble with thermoregulatory stuff today. Was running a slight fever yesterday, and probably today. Had bouts of hot then cold/chills throughout race, and nauseous.
What would you do differently?:

Probably wouldn't have done the race if I had any sense...I'm still not over the illness I've had and should've stayed home in bed!
Post race
Warm down:

Lots of walking. Searched for my friend Marissa who was cheering on her hubby in the pushrim w/c division

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training, illness.

Event comments:

It was only too hard because I shouldn't have done this type of distance in the shape I'm in, but I'm very happy with how I did, and it was kind of nice to take things a little slower and not concern myself wtih speed.
