when we were at como park yesterday, they had a table set up for the get fit twin cities challenge.

http://www.getfittwincities.org/

Get Fit Twin Cities is a fun, team-based, health and fitness challenge designed to jump start healthy habits that will help adults feel better, look better and live longer, healthier lives.

Teams of 2-10 adults register in the Minutes of Activity Division and/or the Weight Loss Division and then spend the next four months motivating and supporting each other to move more and eat better. Team captains receive a Captain's Handbook and every team member receives a wristband and Get Fit Passport that offers many fun fitness opportunities. All teams that track their progress online are eligible for incentives and prizes.

soooo...who wants to join team bt???? its $5 per person...so maybe i'll pay and, depending on how many of us there are, you all can either pay me back at tri-u-mah...or buy my malt and burger after the race it is limited to 10 per team (including me), so the first 9 to respond get to be my best friend

I'm already on a team, so I can't. My team has three people, so it's kind of small; but I want to win stuff, too.

Well I wasn't really all that interested until I read Constance was on another team that we would be competing against for all this great stuff.  I'm guessing the stuff is probably new Tri bikes and entry as well as travel into Kona.  Either that or pink socks with little puffy balls on the back of the ankles.  Either way, I think I'm in.

I'll do it!  What do you need me to do (other than lose my new stress-sleeping habit & get back on my bike!)?

so, there are 5 of us on the team now, and i can others later if more are interested. AND - i was able to register us all for FREE!!! woo hoo! i figured we'd have missed the boat on the free, early registration.

i just received an email from get fit w/ my username and password. each of you will probably have to set these things up. here are our team details:

Team Name: Team BT
Team Captain: Autumn

Division(s) Chosen: Weight Loss Division, Minutes of Activity Division

Team Members:

Autumn (autumn)
Kris (trigirlkris)
Kelly (kelpeng)
Bryan Logue (mndiver)
Ryan (hundoracer)

we just need FIVE more people to get the max of 10. pm me or post here if you are interested. otherwise, maybe we could convince our spouses to participate with us?

i know some of this is redundant w/ what we post here, but its just for a little over 2 months. please log all your minutes and your weight, so we can track our team progress. i'm looking forward to this!

I'll join if you transfer my BT stats over to the other site....

I'd be no good at all with respect to the weightloss, but can add lots to the minutes of activity division.

Hi Autumn,

This is my first post (I'm a long time lurker).... and I'm mndiver's wife, Kelly. Why don't you sign me up if that's okay. I've been trying to get a team together at my office, but they're kind of lame. I think your group has the potential to get some good stuff.

Let me know what information you need from me.

Oooh!  Can I play, too?  I'm also prolly no good for much in the weightloss department (as I sit here and eat a chocolate chip cookie...) but I'll log minutes.

Look out, Kathleen.  We're gonna whip your team's butt!

Cheers!

Tom

hmmm. i think its only for metro...not sure if red wing counts. damned twin cities people and their 'outstate' bs

" How do I register a Minnesota team outside of the Twin Cities?
A: Get Fit Twin cities is available to metro-area residents and worksites. At this time, people outside of the metro area who wish to participate must register under Lighten Up America in the "Minnesota-Other" category. These registrants will be participants of Lighten Up America, which has its own registration fee and incentive structure."
