Say I have a race on March 10th, where in my calendar do I enter this info so that the calendar view shows a green day indicating a race day?

You either go to your Race Log and click the Add Race button which will lead you through a wizard, or find the race in the Race Nexus and click the "Add Race to your Planned Race Log" button.

Here's a related question: why aren't race distances added to running totals for hours and distances? You have to add the race to your training log in order for it to be included in your weekly/monthly/yearly totals.
