Swim
Comments: good swim overall apart from the start ....:) What would you do differently?: pay more attention to the start and no go chatting to fellow club members. Missed the start with another guy in my wave as we were mucking around chatting etc Transition 1
Comments: Good T1 - suit off well, helmet on, onto the bike well and up to speed What would you do differently?: HR was going absolutely nuts .... settled down once I was on the bike but it was up in the high 180's (way over what it should be) .... what's up with that!!!! Bike
Comments: pretty good ride... lonely one though. I lost the front 3 riders in my AG and couldn't stay with them and the next group where way back. What would you do differently?: Good ride, would have liked it to be faster but reasonable happy (time is probably better than what is recorded as it includes T1 and T2) Transition 2
Comments: Great T2, fast and slick What would you do differently?: very happy with T2 Run
Comments: what a shocker. Had a blinder of a T2, felt awesome, ran out hard but got pinged with a cramp at the 2k mark (WTF - this has never happened before) anyway btwn 2k and 3k i reckon it was a 6min k (I almost considered walking - but didn't). Started to feel a bit better and running faster. The last 1.5k's are up the beach - the tide was high so it was soft, soft sand the whole way, very energy sapping :) What would you do differently?: Easy into the run rather than going out hard (no matter how good you feel). Speed work has suffered as a result of doing endurance work. Post race
Warm down: walk around, stretch and chat to a few of the guys and catch up with the family. What limited your ability to perform faster: Run leg for sure Event comments: This is an awesome race. I love it. It is well organised and well patronised. I will be back next year to avenge my poor run this year. All in all I had a good and a great race. The field this year was hot, pace was on and even though I was only 40sec slower than last year i was 2 places down in my AG and 7 places down overall. Last updated: 2007-02-19 12:00 AM

Up at 4am (but that's fairly normal for me these days) and drove down to the race. Felt really wasted and drained but reigstered, went for a quick squirt on the bike, went for a quick run with some sprint efforts the set the bike up in transition.
Already done the quick ride and run thingy but going down to the beach for the start ... crap left my cap in the car ...wife sprints back to get it(she's a treasure :))
Had a quick swim and found a few guys to have a quick chat to as well.
