Subject: March Grow some FINS challenge We only have a week left in the February challenge, so it's time to start thinking about March. In February we focused on getting to the pool as many times a week as we could, and focused on getting more efficient (dropping our golf score). Now that we have efficiency, lets spice it up a little. Lets shoot for endurance. So for the month of March, lets pledge a distance. Not total number of yards to swim, but a target for a long continuous swim. Maybe it's 500 yards, maybe it's the distance of your first race, maybe it's that illusive 1 mile mark... Lets pick a distance and over the course of the month of March, work toward breaking it. So the details: 1. Pick a distance that you want as your goal distance. 2. Pledge how many times you will swim each week (for March) 3. Work toward your goal, updating us when you feel like it 4. At the end of March, do your long swim and fill us in on the details! if you sandbag hit your goal early then record a time, and see if you can't drop that time over the remaining course of the month. Remember, this is continuous swimming. 10x100's does not count as 1000 yards here. Open turns are okay, just keep moving. |
