Help, I'm living in small town Puerto Rico, working in a homeless shelter for elderly and have little recourse for exercise consequently my back keeps going out.  I would consider it a supreme piece of compassion if someone would do an ab challenge with me.

 Thanks all!!

 Annie

I saw the challenge for abs and I wanted to run and hide.  Obviously I need this one and maybe a challenge is the way to make it happen.  The parameters will be interesting.....

How about as a start we take some measurements? Hips, waist (sucked in and relaxed? lol) How about we gather up some exercises and mix'em all up for a task list to cover for each week and then keep it going for a period of about 2 months with an update every other week? This is only my first challenge, next to my first S, B, R for March. So anyways ho'ws that sound? We could even make teams up! "Second captain, first pick!" Lets get it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This might be good for me....I certainly don't do any Core on my own...maybe a little peer pressure would help.

Perhaps number of sessions working the abs? total time?

I'll do it as long as it doesn't get too crazy. I need recovery days for my IMAZ stuff.

I so need this challenge, I promised myself last month I would restart in earnest!

I like the number of sessions idea, count me in for 16 sessions in March.

As for the before and after photo idea.  I plan on losing 6 lbs this month while doing the March S-B-R challenge so I'll do it for the fun of it

If someone wants to captain this challenge, I'll setup the ABS spreadsheet for you to use.

Any rules yet? How about...

  • Week is Monday-Sunday
  • 5 weeks, 3/1-3/4, 3/5/3/11, 3/12-3/18, 3/19-3/25, 3/26-3/31
  • Must log all abs core workouts in 'Strength training' or
  • 'Sports' such as Pilates / Yoga core exercises counts as a workout
  • Before and After pix are for fun...
  • Those that don't meet the challenge must give themselves a Britney Spears shave!

Count me in!

So...where do I find what the challenge looks like?

Hey Donto, since you are the MAN running the S, B, R for March, I can take a crack at being the MFIC for this little flabby abby thingy. Could send over the spreadsheet for me so I can plagerize you upfront? Thanks. I think it would be an idea to put out 5 or so core exercises and about the same number of Ab exercises to be done for a routine over the week. If someone wants to do extra or make a variation that would work to. Thoughts, concerns, input from others involved? I can make a list for tonight...after I get back from Baskins and Robbins, its okay, I'm riding my bike!

Awesome, thanks!

I attached a draft spreadsheet for you, do what you wish to it.

I'm going to follow a BT core workout routine and some pilates...but need to do 16 workout sessions in March, starting with 15-20 reps for each.

An AB challenge...I love it!  It will compliment the SBR challenge quite nicely.  My trainer has given me an ab routine to do and I'll commit to 15 sessions this month.  (My gut hurts just thinking about it...it's 10 excercises with 20 reps each.  Yeah, that's 200 a session.)
