Pre-race routine:

Ate my normal bowl of oatmeal 1.5 hours before race.
Event warmup:

Ran .5 miles to start line about 3 minutes before the start of race. Felt super at start.

Comments:

Run was very nice. I had great pace moving into the halfway mark. Was a little thirsty. But kept up the pace. I didn't want to take gloves or additional layers off as I thought this might disrupt my pace. At mile 9 I knew I was going to pr. I saw some passing but rather then try to race them i stayed steady and smart, know if i tried to race other runners i would risk a pr. I was feeling good and knew I could hold the pace I was at. I slowed from 10-12 by 10 seconds a mile but made it up from 12 to finish.
What would you do differently?:

Start my final push around 11.5 mile mark rather then wait until the 12 mile mark.

Warm down:

jogged to my car after.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

too many layers and should have worn shorts.

Event comments:

This is a great 1.2 marathon. Lots of support and a decent course. This day we had the weather on are side making conditions favorable for a fast race.

Congrats on the great race!  It was perfect weather for those running the half.  The wind didn't kick up until you were coming down the home stretch.
