Swim
Comments: Waited along time for everyone to go in front. Once started, the next wave began and I got over taken. What would you do differently?: Start more confidently and swim harder. Transition 1
Comments: Took along time to get to the transition area from the swim. Once there, it took a little too long to put on shoes and socks and dry bike/run shirt. What would you do differently?: Run harder from the end of the swim and make a quicker change at the bike. Bike
Comments: Good race. I think I could have given a little more. What would you do differently?: Definitely try a different bike. However, I am pretty happy with the bike protion. Perhaps attacking the hills a little more next time, so doing more hill work outs would be a good idea. Transition 2
Comments: Good transition, using old foot clip, maybe should try new ones, but T2 went really well. What would you do differently?: New shoe clips? Run
Comments: Started the run very slowly, or so it felt. Picked it up at the end, but the beginning was tough. What would you do differently?: Maybe running more post biking to get legs used to the transition. Preparing to run a bit longer so distance feels good. Using "gels" a little earlier on so that I can take advantage of the "kick" they provide earlier on. Post race
Warm down: Stretched and walked around the finish area. What limited your ability to perform faster: Swimming. I felt pretty good about the rest of the race. Event comments: 5 so far as I know. Got up, had a banana and a breakfast cookie, consumed about 16 Oz of 2x diluted gatorade. Traveled to the transition to drop off equipement with plenty of time to traverse the course and warm up.
