Run
Comments: i love this 10K. it's probably one of the harder ones out there because of the people and the bridge. the run through mount pleasant was great, kept a steady pace, no coughing. going up the bridge, i had to walk twice due to coughing fits that were brought on by the incline. i walked for no more than 3 minutes. the rest of the race was good. i was conservative on the long downhill but ran a steady pace through downtown charleston. i felt like that humidity played a little factor in my slow time. i dumped lots of water on my head at the last 3 aid stations. What would you do differently?: not get a chest cold/sinus infection less than a week before. not being able to run to the point where it was stressful on my breathing hurt my performance. i did beat last year's time by almost a minute and i was not sick last year. Post race
Warm down: walked to marion square, grabbed a banana and bagel, stretched, and walked back to my sister's house. What limited your ability to perform faster: chest cold/sinus infection Event comments: everyone should do this race once. it's awesome. Last updated: 2007-02-07 12:00 AM

my mom woke my sister and i up since we slept through our alarms. oops! this is not normal for me. i laid out all my clothes the night before so i got dressed, grabbed a water and banana, and ran out the door.
this race is 45,000+ so we got dropped off pretty far back from the start line. jogged to the start and stretched.
