Comments: Should have tried to snag a few drinks of the water bottle. The wind was kicking pretty hard thru the front stretch. Was really struggling to maintain 22-23 mph thru that area. I can normally push high 20's here. I didn't really have an extra kick left for the last lap. I just didn't have an energy reserve to tap into. What would you do differently?: Not run 21 miles in the 4 days prior to the time trial. My legs were definitely not 100% Post race
Warm down: No time. Had to throw bike on the truck and jet to the kids' soccer game What limited your ability to perform faster: Me--kind of disappointed in today's ride. Got a whole season to improve though Event comments: Always enjoy these races. Disappointed in my own performance. Glad Alice & Jeff had a good time. **EDIT--I've had another hr to reflect on tonight. Although I'd like to have gone faster, I should be pretty happy with my performance. I started 11th and passed everyone in front of me. I was only passed twice, one of these times by someone I'd already passed. I passed so many people that I lost count by Lap 2 of 7. Given that the wind was stronger tonight, I really did do pretty well. This was a new PR by 0:40! Last updated: 2007-03-12 12:00 AM
