Comments: This was the 30th anniversary of the Bloomin Metric (2,000 - 3,00 Riders). This is a fun ride/tour around Fairfield County in Connecticut. (Where I live) Started in Norwalk at Calf Pasture Beach headed along the coast. then inland up into the hills. I have ridden this route quiet a few times as I do a lot of my training here/ LOTS of hills. Really enjoyed the ride went fairly slow with a couple of my buddied from Tri-training. A bit of a change to actaully enjoy the scenery... Went past a horrific crash on the first desent. 2 middle aged women had clipped each other both weren't moving. Blood everywhere. I thought one of them was dead for sure but heard someone say she had a pulse. After this we all took it easy roads were slippery and there were some very novice riders out there. I hope they were both OK.... What would you do differently?: Learnt a valuable lesson, I had three beers and a large glass of red wine the night before so woke up hungover. Then at the first stop at 25 miles I had three choclate chip cookies....As a result I started having stomach issues (Cramps) for the last 30 miles very uncmofrtable. While I would never drink the night before a real race this is a good reminder why not to) Post race
Warm down: Did a 25 minute brick off the bike. What limited your ability to perform faster: 2000 people that couldn't ride for Sh*t. Event comments: Awesome Ride, the stops were awesome good music food etc. Good value for money Last updated: 2007-05-14 12:00 AM

As Such this wasn't a race. Just a tour around Connecticut
Ran back and forward to my car as I couldn't decide to wear a jacket as it was raining and cold. Decided not to which was a good choice as it warmed up I just froze for the first 20 miles.
