Total Time = 1h 22m 39s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 16/20
Pre-race routine:

Coffee, oatmeal, check list before departing
Event warmup:

Light jog for 10 minutes before swim que, lots of stretching
Swim
  • 15m 58s
  • 740 meters
  • 02m 10s / 100 meters
Comments:

Forgot about the plan to take it easy. i took off too fast and used up a lot of energy trying to pass very early.
What would you do differently?:

Slow down and be patient.
Transition 1
  • 02m 9s
Comments:

A bit slow in and out of transition.
What would you do differently?:

I will not take my GPS and heartrate monitor with me again. Techy geek stuff I DO NOT need. Lesson learned for next time.
Bike
  • 40m 3s
  • 20 kms
  • 29.96 km/hr
Comments:

I was supprised to see myself so low in the ranking. I thought I was doing pretty well. I think I am still used to "grinding" on my MNT bike so i was fighting the bike a bit instead of using her for what she is built for.
What would you do differently?:

I threw my chain on a down hill section which cost me over a minute to fix. I will have it fixed and ensure it NEVER happens again. I think she was unhappy about not having a name on our first race together. She will have a fitting name before our next race.
Transition 2
  • 02m 5s
Comments:

I got lost in T2. I could not find the exit for the run. I had a hard time putting my socks on. Practise again is needed. I thought Transitions would be easier. I am being proved wrong.
What would you do differently?:

Practise my transitions, look at the transition area closly next time.
Run
  • 22m 25s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 29s  min/km
Comments:

I had a HUGE cramp in my gut as soon as I started due to lack of water, I lost my bottle when I dropped it on the bike portion (idiot!) Run felt good though, better for me than Delta. Had a few great, killer hills that I could really feel. Liked the course overall!
What would you do differently?:

Have extra water in transistion
Post race
Warm down:

No warm down...straight out the door to work.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Inexperience, my lack of strenght and overall endurance and low level of commitment to training.

Event comments:

Really liked the race, will be on my calander for next year.

Nice job!  Way to not get too down on yourself when your chain fell off.  Was this one of those off road tris?
