I had a reality check over the weekend. My target race is 800m/20mi/4mi. I am hoping to finish in under 2 hours. I hit the gym to establish a base line.
Swim 19 minutes, SPL 23 - not bad
Stationary Bike - 18 mph pace is not too hard - can I keep it going for > 1 hr?
Run - wow, 10 min/mile is a lot faster than I remember. Could only maintain the pace for 1/2 mile. 12 min/mile is more comfortable.
Question: What is a reasonable guesstimate for T1/T2 time?
I'm not giving up on my goal, but I've clearly got my work cut out for me.
I thought about including a quote like "The older I get the faster I was", but I'm going to stay positive and sign off with
"One's reach should always exceed one's grasp."
