I usually steer clear of the trails during hunting season; I figure I can let the hunters have it for a couple of months while decreasing my chances of getting shot or scaring off the game.

did your knee happen as you heard the gun fire??  LOL...

.definitely WEAR ORANGE !!  but then again sometimes that doesn't even help.... I was on an open (bush) road (with my Irish Setter - we were both in orange) & she saved my life by jumping on me, knocking me to the ground  -  the gunfire was that close.  After my husband found the guys,  "They thought they heard something !!"  some guys just don't get it..
