I am in. Thanks for the advice on the white. I would have never known. This is only my second one and I am looking forward to it. Hopefully I can find a bike before then. Also, I hope I dont drown. This will be the fartherest I have had to swim yet. My last was the double sprint in Kure Beach.
Good Luck to all.

I will be there bright and early. Did you see the race is starting at 7:30 AM instead of the posted time of 7:00 AM?

You may want to plan on it starting at 7:00 am. The website says 7 and the swim wave times start at 7 in the instructions. I think the top of the instructions is incorrect.

I received an email from set up events telling me that the times were incorrect on the web site and the actual start time would be at 0730. The did say that they would be correcting the times on the website and that the correct info was going to be placed in all the packets when they are picked up.

why cant they do it up the road at falls lake or jordan lake?

Oh come on! You can jump in for 15 min or less. Over 1,000 aren't too scared

At least come out and cheer us crazy people on! You can laugh at us when we call in sick on Monday because we caught something from the water. haha

The nuclear waste in the lake just adds to the "glowing" personality!!!

I'm in ! I don't know my # yet... but I get a pink swim cap ! yay! i'll be in the last wave, the women's novice.

2 questions...

As a novice... is there any type  of finisher's medal or certificate for this race? Or are awards only given in the top 3 of each category? Or is this a ... i get the reward of my satisfaction for having done it ? hehehe..

Anyone interested in a general BT meet and greet at the race site ??? I see about 20 signed up via the RR section of this site but just a few folks on this thread... ? anyone have a BT sign or something to coordinate? I just have my BT t-shirt i'm going to wear post race and my handy water bottle for the bike.

I'm down with meeting up with other BT - you go girl with your t-shirt and water bottle : )

I'm jealous you get to wear a pink cap! I will have a white one on- it will be brown once I come out of the water.

hahah... yep, i'm planning (for now) to wear an orange shirt for the cycle/run portions, I'm guessing it will have brown streaks from the lake post swim... so it will look like i got hurled on or something.

I don't want to cramp anyone's pre-race routine.  I'm planning to arrive by 6-ish as well to do a warmup swim and get my bearings... (first tri-race!) ...

... how about we have a "floating meet up" pre and/or post race at the gazebo 6am and later ? @ the structure/atrium/information thing... it's glass and wood.... & is located on the parking lot, between the swimstart and transition area.  I'll make a sign or something/.. lol.  It is to the right of the entrance, first lot on your right after park entry.

I'll be at the info meeting tonight as well... will wear my bt "i train with my friends..." shirt

Sounds good, I'll be there around 6 as well. Just a hint, write down bib #'s. It makes it easier since most people set up transition first.

so i see the participant list, but how do you know the order that we are listed (alphabetically) is how the bib #s are done... or am i just missing  the appropriate list?  which is definitely possible.

for those of you who are doing this as your first tri, that is awesome!  have a great time - it's a fun race! and the whole water thing is way overblown.  imo it's just another lake, so no worries.
