Subject: RE: Masters swim programs in chicago I have been swimming with the Chicago Blue Dolphins for about 3 years now. The team pratices on Mon-Thur evenings from 7:30-9 and Sun from 9-10:30 at UIC. We also have weekday morning practices at Moody Bible College in/near the loop from 5-6am and 6-7am (not sure exactly as I never make morning practices ). On tuesday night we are in the 50m pool, the rest we are in a 25yd pool.
It is a great group with various levels from beginners to college swimmers looking for more pool time. The head coach, Fitz, writes unique pratices for each level so your workout is customized to what you need. We mainly swim freestyle but on Wed and Sun there is usually a lane for IM. Practices are usually a warmup with drills followed by a main set. Each day has a different focus like Mon and Wed are technique, Tues endurance, Thur speed, etc.
You should drop in for a free pratice. If you go to the website you can register for a free session (chicagobluedolphins.com ). And if you decide to join there are 2 types of memberships -- punch card (10 swims for 125 ) or session member (as many times as you want during a session for 125 ).
