OK, I'm in.  Who else is doing this one?

Those of you who've done this one before, how's the bike course?  I'm coming from flat land here at the coast so the "hills" are a little intimadating for me.  How hilly is this course really?  Is the run hilly as well or is it flatter since it's along the shore of the lake?

I am tentatively in (still trying to see if I can get away with doing a race only one week before my wedding).  GaMultisports puts on a great race down there and I think that you'll have a great time doing it!

I have done the race the past 2 years and I would say that the bike course is rolling hills.  The bike really isn't around the lake much so it's not flat, but on a difficulty rating I would give it a 5 or 6 out of 10.  There are no hills that you should be scared of, but you should be prepared to make gearing changes throughout the race.

The run is extremely flat (with only one short steep hill), but it is across the dam so be prepared to be running in some hot conditions!

LaGrange is my hometown so if you have any questions about where to stay or eat, let me know!

Ahhh.. WPL. My first Olympic Distance Tri. Memories... I remember the bike course as relatively easy, but you will probably think of it as moderately difficult. Steamer was right on when she gave it a 5 or a 6 difficulty. Not bad at all. What I remember though, was that it was a bit long. Not sure if that's changed or not.. by long, I mean 27 / 28 miles. (long relative to the standard 40k bike)

The run.. HOT.. so hot that day.. It's across a damn, flat, wide open trail for about 2 miles.. the rest is rolling hills, but from what I recall, not much shade.

It's on my schedule, but it falls two weeks before my first IM.. so it will be a race week decision for me.

I did the race last year and will most likely do it again.

I remember the swim last year where it was a bit shallow on the way back.

I'm in.   This year I'm not injured but I'm not quite where I want to be for conditioning. Oh well.

I officially registered for the race. We should all get together before or after the race.
