Subject: Just registered for the High Falls Tri....
Just registered for my first race. I noticed that the bike leg runs a few miles on Hwy. 36 isn't that a little dangerous ? Alot of high speed traffic.... Maybe not in the morning.

Congratulations on your first race! Don't worry about traffic on the HWY, they will at least close off one lane for you to ride in.

Ditto on the "Congrats" - you'll have a great time.  The Tri the Parks series of races is very well run.  The courses are well-marked and they have plenty of volunteer support, including a decent law enforcement presence on portions of the bike course (intersections usually) that need it most.  I've done two TtP races this season and have had no worries whatsoever during the bike portion of either race.

I drove the bike route this morning.. It appears to be at least 50 miles.........

Does anyone know if its clockwise or counter-clockwise, cant tell by the map ?

This is a good race...the only sketchy part is where it goes by the truck stop on I-75, and even then they had a lot of police out there. My wife did it as her first race a few years ago and had a great time.

 

The bike course should only be about 11-12 miles.

Just kidding about the 50 miles. Driving in 101 degree temps even inside my truck seemed that it went on forever !
