I'm pretty new to tris. I did my 1st marathon in June ( sandiego rnr) and am doing the women's Nike marathon in October, as well as an ultra in Nov and an ultra in feb. I've done one sprint tri, and am doing an olymic ( Timex) in a month. Just started swimming lessons, because I stink at swimming right now. I'm 17 and a Senoir in hs, I hope to do a 1/2 IM in March, and have been eying the 70.3 in oceanside. I want to be an Ironman someday, 2009? I love pushing myself physically. I love this site!

Hey finally a younger person! Gosh I was beginning to wonder if another one even existed on BT!? BTW I'm only 18 y/o... Feel so young amongst all these seasoned triathletes.

You've got the same idea as I do! I'm just about to do my first tri on Saturday and I'm hoping to work it up to a full IM by 2009!

Well, add a third to the mix... I'm 18 years old. Right now I only have one sprint under my belt. Next season I plan on racing some Olympic distance races. My worst discipline is the swim... but I'm starting to get good at that too! At my last race, I ran into quite a few teens, some of which were pretty good looking We might be a rare breed, but not as much as you may think!

Congratulations!!! That's awesome!!! I wish I could run that fast! CHEETAH!

Cheetah- Nice to meet you! I started tri swim lessons, has been helping a ton, but yeah, swim is my scariest of the three and the most I still need to work on. I do agree though, I have found the few teen triathletes I've seen attractive! I have a lot of respect for them!

I tried sending you a friend request... but I didn't know you last name or email address. I see that you play the trumpet... me too, I've been playing for 8 years!

Oh, and don't worry, we'll keep you accountable around here!

Although I must say, you two need to start logging your workouts!

Maybe I'll start... I did when I first signed up, but have gotten lazy since.

It takes shorter to do it online!!!!

Then again I can type about 5 times faster then I write...

See the point is, if you don't log your workouts online, then no one else can see what you are doing. That, and I can't bug you to keep pushing yourself and work out more!

Don't let anyone tell you that your goals are unrealistic or "you can't do it".  I heard that all the time when I was training for my marathon.  I sure proved them wrong.  Good luck with your goals.
