Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 3/20
Pre-race routine:

ate breakfast at 5:00am Race to start at 7:00. Ate dried fruit 15 min before start. I was sorry the whole first of the race, I was quite bloated and my stomach didn't do so good.
Event warmup:

not much, I kind of just jogged around a bit and streched out real well.
Swim
  • 14m 59s
  • 825 meters
  • 01m 49s / 100 meters
Comments:

Crazy. Mass start inside the water. Lost my breathe at the beginning and spent the rest of the time trying to get it back. time ended up ok I guess it effected everyone else too
What would you do differently?:

I don't know. Probably try and stay out to the side so I didn't have to deal with so many people
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

put shoes on while standing up, put on biking jersey. very quick trans.
What would you do differently?:

Probably have a number belt next time so I don't have to change shirts between bike and run
Bike
  • 1h 00m 23s
  • 12.5 miles
  • 12.42 mile/hr
Comments:

I was very prepared for this bike segment. I knew the trail very well and it made a huge difference. I passed like 40 people on the bike segment alone.

What would you do differently?:

The only part I wasn't prepared for was how hard I was breathing after the swim. I need to prepare for that better for the next one.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Run
  • 38m 18s
  • 4.5 kms
  • 08m 31s  min/km
Comments:

Not to bad. got passed by 2 but passed 3 so i was pretty happy with my performance

Great race and great times. Did you wear a wetsuit? What was the MB course like? I've know a few crazy mountainbikers who must be addicted to adrenaline - downhill at 25-30 mph yikes! Are you one of these people?

Cool name too....any beer at the finish?

Congrats! A fat tire tri sounds like fun. I love mountain biking, and can't wait to try one. Sounds like knowledge of the trail is key.

Sounds like a fun race. Good job. Was there any beer involved since it was Oktoberfest? That would provide for an interesting race.
