I'm vol as well as a bike cor. for the first water stop. Am doing the lady on Sun as well. Really looking forward to seeing this race do well so I can do it in a couple years. The 10 day forcast say 93 for Sat and 95 for Sun with only 10% chance for rain! But who can count on the weatherman? Everyone have a great race!

I understand not wanting to see me either...you can just say hi on the way to being stretched out well.  I don't look forward to the bad stuff but it happens and I'm an ERRN so I can handle it

Hey guys. I'll be there. I'm really excited about this one. We've done the bike course a few times but I haven't really checked out the run course. Does anyone know if there are hills on the run course?

BTW - This will be my first triathlon! I attempted a sprint in may and injured myself on the bike...so I wasn't able to finish. I'll be in the pink...enjoying every minute. Thanks to those who are volunteering. Grabbing stuff from the volunteers is my favorite part!

We went out and ran the run course a few weeks ago-- it's pretty much flat, no major hills

Hey all.  I am doing this race too.  I think it's going to be well run.  If it's anything like other Setup races, it should be good.

I've ridden the bike course many times and it's good, yet challenging.  One major point, when you get to Carwash hill (2 miles or so after the reseviour), stay to the middle to left of the lane on the huge down hill!!  There is some spotty asphalt and you don't want to have to make corrections going 30+ mph.

Found out today the when you get out of the water, it will be a long run to the bikes. Maybe something like a 1/4 mile.

I thought I also heard that going from the swim to T1 was up a bit of a hill; the event info says to plan on T1 times being longer than usual. Current water temp is posted as 80 degrees. We some some cool nights.

Hey guys, my kid will be voluteering too.  She's probably going to be getting the chips off at the finish line.  She wants to do a kids tri in the next couple years-has a good run, fair bike, needs a bit of swim work on the sroke though.  I'll be hunting for BT'ers/RTC club members but hope ya'll stay healthy and I don't have to find ya in the tent!

I really hope that I run into some of you guys tomorrow!  But if I don't I just want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for volenteering.

The race couldn't go on without you guys.  Look for the dark slow guy...that will be me.  :P

Good luck, y'all. Hoping to do one of these (the half or the ladies) next year myself.

I live very close to the race start and it does look like the transition area will be a bit of a ways from the water. The run is on the parkway which is not asphalt but is like concrete with pebbles in it. I found it odd to run on for the first time.
