Run
Comments: I didn't want to run all out as this was mostly a training run, and I actually kept an eye on my HR until the last 2 miles. I wouldn't want to run this race for speed as there were a lot of people on the course and we were all weaving in-and-out of each other. People were friendly and civil but the course never really thinned out. Water stops were packed and I was glad I was running with a water bottle. Post race
Warm down: I walked through the post race festivities, stopping briefly at the MedComm tent and grabbing a banana and a bagel. Then I headed back to the Metro and home. I didn't enjoy walking the six blocks from the Metro to home, but it helped to keep me from getting stiff. What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat - it's not suppose to be this hot in Oct Last updated: 2007-07-10 12:00 AM

I woke up early and ate a couple of bananas and a ham sandwich while reading and working the Sunday crossword.
Other than walking 6 blocks to the metro, nothing. I arrived early to the race site and not having a transition area, I hadn't brought a book, so I prayed the Rosary while I waited, then I talked to some folks in the German Armed Forces and headed up to the race start.
