Anybody into salt water fishing? Striped Bass fishing? Kayak fishing?

Yes. It's a yellowfin I caught off Catalina, and I won the trip jackpot for it. Most other fishing has been small fry ... but I've gone fishing all over the world.

I love fly fishing this time of year. The trout are eating EVERYTHING that's coming their way, getting ready for winter. They're also smarter, either natives or stockers that have survived a season (or more) of heavy fishing pressure. I've picked up browns over twenty inches in the fall, and they are a blast on a 4 wt. The colors are a marvel, too.

I miss the fall striper runs at Barnaget Light in NJ and the bluefish runs up and down Long Beach Island...

So now that all the baseball teams worth following are out of the post season...

I don't know, last time I looked there was still one worth cheering for....

Have a nice day, Don...Cool

Heh...

Four months 'till pitchers and catchers report...

Speaking of reports...

No action in the Wissahickon yesterday.  I went bike trailer fishing with my two little guys. (maybe that could be a new category of fishing - bike trailer fishing... )

Big day for my 5yo Lucas, though.  He graduated from a spincasting reel to a spinning reel.  He was happy as could be. (actually, he could be happier but he'll need to wait about nine months after pitchers and catchers report next season)
