Pre-race routine:

alarm went off at 7:20, i shut it off and debated whether or not to get up. heard my cell phone rining and knew it was susan checking on me. so i hauled my a$$ outta bed and called her back. got the message through susan that klynne didn't want me to ditch her and that did it, i was running a 5k today, on vacation!
got dressed, grabbed a banana and water and next thing i know, i hear a knock on the door - my ride was there!

Comments:

hey, this was all about logging miles for the challenge - so i didn't really push hard at all.
i got that familiar old twinge in my left knee around 2 1/2 miles which stunk - so that hurt my pace alot!
there was a good turnout for this race, thanks to a huge contingent from a naval base who were doing the run as their PT for the day.
they were also being shipped out to kuwait in a day or so, i hope they all return home safe and sound.
What would you do differently?:

get up earlier to give me time to eat breakfast
warm up better
