Looking forward to the results. I had a blast and can't wait until next year. X2 on the volunteers and their encouragement. Made HUGE difference.

That's all we get? That you had a blast. As a newbie with a tri in 2 weeks, I need details!
How did the swim go? What went good and bad?

Congrats on finishing your first tri!

All,

I had a great time as well, and was very well run... I also ran this in about 1:30.19 or so and they had me down of a minute slower as well...
I wonder if this is consistent for all competitors? The one minute does not really matter in the grand scheme of things for me, but it may make a difference for the persons who are placing high in there groups.

I will be donig a race report as well when the official times are posted

See you all next year,
Andy

PS. Who else has plans for upcoming events??

Sorry. Waiting for the race results so I can post my report. I go into much more detail there.

My time according to my watch was 1:30 and change

According to the preliminary results that were posted after the race, it was 1:31 and change.

Now on the official results, it is 1:32 and change?

what the heck? It looks like they've added 1 minute to my swim and 1 minute to my run.

My run time according to my watch was 25:22 and now it's 26:22.

Just trying to figure out what's going on - was I penalized or something?

My time was about 2 min slower on the official results than what my watch says as well. It sounds like we need to send out a few e mails to HFP if this is not cleared up in a day or so. I was out of the pool in 7 minutes, my time online has me at over 9.

Fairly well run event I thought. I realize I need to do some bricks. I got off the bike and couldn't get my legs to work properly. My average minute per mile for the 5k was slower than my average on the 1/2 mary I ran last week.

I'll check the results again tomorrow and hopefully by then they will be cleared up.

David

Swim splits on the "official" results seem to be about a minute slow.

What a great race once again!  I liked the new bike course, although it was more challenging than last year IMO.  Hope everyone else had as much fun as I did!

Just checked the results again.... times have been adjusted, but mine seems to be the bike and run times. I feel like these results are more accurate (even though I didn't time myself)... though I do think the swim time might be a bit slow (even taking the run to T1 into account).

FWIW, I don't like HFP's new layout when it comes to event results.

Race report soon. I had a great time!

If you are annoyed by the new layout of HFP's website with the double scrollbars, a link to just the results is at

I would like to thank everyone from hfp racing, I thought they put on a great race. and second of all I would like to extend my thanks to all the students that stood in the cold rain along with the police, they were there for our safety and support. Im sure they had better things to do that saturday morning, but at every intersection I rode through there were students with a orange musf volenteer shirt cheering me on. thanks, I will definatly do this race next year.

Interesting.  I just checked the race results again and my time is about 2 minutes faster.  Wonder what happened?

Results are actually down now so maybe they're tweaking them yet again.  It seems like initially they were about a minute slow on the swim...I know mine was about a minute slower than last year and the winner, Eric Ott's were too.  Then it seems like they just subtracted a minute from everyone's run times.

UPDATE/EDIT

The results are back up now and they did shave some time off the swims.  They also seem to have sorted something differently as there are 2 DNF's above the overall winner on the list.  Regardless, these new results seem to most closely match what was on my stopwatch.

My times are adjusted as well and match up with what I had for my times. within 30 sec's or so.

Still had a great time and was very well run.

Is anyone doing the Mason Race in July?

If I am in town I will be there, but don't think I can make any between now and then.

David... this is my first post on BT and since you got me signed up for it, I figured this first one should go to you. I think I should volunteer at the next race, since I was just standing around at 4:30 in transition.  Nonetheless, the weekend was a lot of fun. I really liked the bike course. I also liked discovering Shock Top, which went down way to quickly. Swim tomorrow in AM, see you then.

Mason Tri Info

This is just the information I got from the HFP Website. I know that they are planning on doing it in a park behind Mason High School. I don't know how they are doing the swim, I am not sure if it is a 50m pool or 25m. I will try to get over there and see when I am in Mason again.

here is the link for the race details....

http://www.hfpracing.com/eventinfo.php?eventid=54

I am planning on doing this but this is also the same weekend as the MS 150 in Lebanon...

Decisions.. Decisions...

Well I was very disappointed that I was unable to do this race. I had signed up and then got sick..oh well it happens.

I am thinking of doing the Fit to Fight race in Mason with a friend of mine. I belive that it is being held at Kings Island as I recall. Still trying to plan out my summer now that I am healthy and training again.
