Pre-race routine:

Woke up early and drove to the race. Met up with Matt (biseman) and Cheryl (sledge). Put my shoes in a bag and rode the bike around a bit.

Event warmup:

2 mile ride.

this race is bike, run, bike. so i just combined the bikes and the race order is not correct.

Comments:

Jumped off the bike and did transition fair. I started quick and slowly got slower. I had passed alot of people in the earlier waves on the bike and most of them got me back. I was happy with my pace and didn't have any problems.

What would you do differently?:

t1 was 1:36, kinda sloppy I tried to run out the wrong direction.
t 2 was 1:34, again, sloppy. couldn't get shoes back on

Comments:

Started out at the front and was in the lead pack when the draft zone ended. I did great till the bridge and I really struggled up the bridge. Lost a lot of spots. Rode hard and actually beat last years time by 5 seconds.

Ride back was really hard. I had people I was chasing and I got them all but it was close. Bridge was actually better on the way back into the headwind.

What would you do differently?:

just gotta raise the level of training back up.

Warm down:

just cruised around and minute then loaded the bike.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My endurance is down because of less training then I have in the past. I was 5 minutes slower than last year. I am okay with that as thats what I earned.

Event comments:

We had 6 bter's. Met all but Irish Eyes. Finally got to Sledge from my mentor group. She rocks and almost beat me. She won Grand Masters Female. Also great to see Matt (Biseman) again. He did beat me but I think he cheated. Fun day.
