Pre-race routine:

Nothing much, woke up at 4am, had some oatmeal and coffee, headed to T1 at 5am to set up. Had a cliff bar 45 mins prior to race start.

Could have swam a little harder. I think I held back too much. I just wasnt having the best day overall. I think I should have been 4mins faster, but I wasnt... no excuses.

Could NOT get wetsuit off my ankles. Could already tell my hammies wanted to cramp too.

More bodyglide on the ankles

Drank 24oz of water, and 24oz of cytomax, but wasnt enough to keep from cramping. I think I should have drank more prior to race start and in T1.
What would you do differently?:

Drank more before the bike, carry an extra bottle in Jersey pocket.

Very tired from the hills and cramping at this point. The run seemed daunting.

I was running so slowly up some hills I thought I might go backward, but to my surprise, I was passing many people. I have never passed someone runnign so slow before. The run was much more difficult than I expected.
What would you do differently?:

Train a little harder for the hills, but overall my run wasnt bad. I think had I done better on the bike, I would have been happy with this run.

Awesome race... I reccommend it to anyone who can afford to get out there.

Course: VERY hilly. Much more so than I ever expected. I had a really bad leg cramp at about mile 17 that forced me off the bike for a few minutes. NOT MY DAY. Otherwise I felt ok, but had to hold back to keep the legs from cramping. Very frustrating.
