Subject: RE: sbreaux group - CLOSED!!!!dawgnation_b - 2008-01-14 9:53 AM It has been a crazy week. With school and my Chargers winning their second playoff game in a row. I am down in San Diego right now so my routine is kind of a mess, but I will be back at school tomorrow and ready to get back to work. I did have a question though, what are your thoughts on walking/running on a hill versus flat ground? In my personal experience, I like to vary my workouts by pace as well as by terrain. Living in Colorado, we don't have too many pancake flat courses, but I do have a couple that I like to run. So, some days I may do a long, slow flattish run, while others may be a short, tempo paced hilly run. Mixing up your workouts will help you from getting burned out on the same run day after day. It will also help you gain strength. Hill repeats are a great way to improve your running power. Hill work will take more out of you, so remember to rest accordingly. I don't know if I answered your question, so let me know if you have something more specific. I would highly recommend putting some hill work into your running program. |
