Subject: New guy from Melbourne FLHello everyone, glad to have found this forum! This year I have a goal to do a complete tri, a sprint and hopefully an olympic. Last year I was limited to doing team events as I injured a calf muscle that took absolutely forever to heal. In the past, the 1st local sprint race was in early June and the 2nd race was in early Oct. I just found out this year the 1st race (sprint ) is in mid April and the 2nd race (olympic ) is in mid June. I should have joined the local tri club (www.sctriathletes.com ) to stay abreast of details. Needless to say I have not started a focused training program! I printed out the 16 week trtaining guides available online to start training with. My weakness is swimming so I plan on a focused swim training as I've been running 5k's this winter and ride a mnt bike to work and hash rides. The sprint tri in April has an ocean 0.3 mile swim, I have a lot of swim learning to do in 8 weeks!
