Subject: Forum opinions
You are right that it is a public forum, which means if I have an opinion I can express it if I want to do so. My opinion is that there were a few comments that were a little over the top, from my perspective.

I'm not offended by anyone saying what they prefer or don't prefer. We all prefer different things. Life would be extremely boring if we all liked the same stuff. As always, what you have a reaction to is colored by your own experience.

My experience has been (more than once) "You are a great person and you have a great personality but it's just not going to work" This would be fine, after all no-one can determine what someone wants. But then they have the almighty nerve to say "...but I would be if only you weren't... (insert insult here)" - and not necessarily weight related either.

It wasn't that a preference was expressed, but that it seemed to be expressed at the expense of others. It's not saying that someone prefers "6' redheads" that touched a nerve, it was the feeling of "6' redheads are better than 5'2" curvy brunettes because 5'2" curvy brunettes are weird."

There is nothing wrong with being a 5'2" curvy brunett.  It's the 5'2" curvy redheads you have to worry about...

Wow, I really got in over my head posting on this thread... My mailbox is full of notifications. I am really glad I found this site but am going to take the observer role before my inbox begins overflowing with notifications.

FYI, I have dated all types of women and living in Russia I have seen some real beauties. At the end of the day (actually very early in the day) it is the personality that counts. I would much prefer an intelligent woman than a Anna Nicole even though my eyes continue to draw me towards the later.

Nowadays I just want to meet someone who speaks english... That said my wife back home combines both (in case she is reading this).

Sheesh, this is good. And the fact that I wasn't the one that walked in and threw a grenade... Priceless.

SMILE EVERYONE, YOU'RE ON CANDID CAMERA!!!!!

Oh, and paulieman, welcome to the conversation. I don't know if you're a lurker or new here (post counts can be deceiving), but I have to agree that when all you have are words to go by, it's way too easy for things to be taken out of context. It does take a while to get to "know" the usual suspects, but with the exception of that xxxhalfim goober a while back, we're all good people and mostly haveing fun at someone's expense in a good natured way Really!

And Lara, here's that skinny/fat thread that you missed, beautiful stuff...

Paulieman,

You can turn off the email notifications of threads.  Go to the BT Control Panel (upper right of the BT Window) and scroll down.  Select " No" for "Email notification by default."

Then, you can blast away with no email overflow.

Welcome to the group, too.

That's because you have no personality (self-confessed)

I didn't confess to having "no personality," I confessed to not having a good personality.

It seems my job here is done.  Now that I've offended my virtual world of friends, I've got a bottle of red wine under my  arm, off to offend the real world. Good day to you all

Bear, your bad personality (self-confessed) is why you see no humor in this thread.

Welshy - it's not the 5'2 redheads that you need to watch out for... it's the 5'10" blondes. Just thought you'd like to know.

Well, since I started this thread, perhaps I can finish it, as well. Lots of good humor and appreciation for people going out there and doing their best and that makes our board the best one out there. But I also think Pooh Bear's point was made. You can love any body type you want; that's what makes the world go round. Thank Goodness! The problem is when one refers to a body type in a perjorative way; offense is taken, as was meant when given. I think it's time to move on. Besides, tmwelshy secretly loves my body type, too!

Bad personalities, on the other hand, are always fair game. Pooh, wait for me! I want some of that red wine.
