I have the powertap SL. (not wireless)  I got a training and race wheel. Two powertap wheels price are price competitive with ergomo if you don't already have nice non PT race wheels.

I have noticed on my computrainer spinscan that my left vs right power output is roughly 55 - 45.  I was concerned that the ergomo which only reads power from one side (the left I think) wouldn't be accurate.  (Not that it really matters because relative power within your own range is important not absolute comparisons with other riders).  However even if in practicality it doesn't matter, somehow measuring the power from only my left leg, then doubling it doesn't satisfy my inner engineer sensibility.  Also having the power meter on the wheels rather than the crank and/or BB means I can easily switch between multiple bikes (if I ever get multiple bikes).

If I already had a quiver of wheels (specifically a high dollar carbon race wheel or disk), I would have taken a much harder look at Ergomo and SRM.  You can't go disk with a powertap.  You can use a wheel cover. My race wheel is a Zipp 808 PT.  I don't know if I will ever wish I had a disk.

The main complaint I have about the powertap is the limited way that you can display the data.  Specifically, I would like to have the ability to display current watts, cadence and heart rate.  Unfortunately, the Powertap will not let me do this at the same time.  The top line of the display shows some form of power, the middle some form of speed and the bottom can show heart rate or cadence (among others).  When training and racing with power, speed is not that important to me, but unfortunately the middle line on the display can only be customized to some variant of speed (current, max, avg. etc.)
