Pre-race routine:

It was my first time at this event, I was not sure how to prepare so I ate as if it was a race.
Event warmup:

Stood around in the rain bouncing, had a sip or two of brandy and fireball, tried to stay warm until the run started.

Comments:

We made 6 stops to wait on traffic, our police officer, and pick up some stragglers. People cheered from their houses along the course. It was a great course, we had a good amount of runners with more joining along as we passed their homes. Ton of people including the news waiting by the water for us.
What would you do differently?:

Bring beer for the run.

Warm down:

Stood around got a towel, 'dried' off and headed to the car to head home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

It was a group run, so the pace.

Event comments:

There were no stops, you brought everything you needed.

Course: There was one giant hill, few small hills, and windy. It was a good run.

Very cool!

I was thinking about going with a coworker and his friends, but it didn't fit in with my other New Year's day plans, unfortunately.  It definitely sounds like fun.
