  • Comments: Very well-organized - these guys put on a great race. Good to be racing for juvenile diabetes research also - I have Type 1. Scenic course, but be ready for some rolling terrain. Great to be able to pick numbers at Fast Splits before race. Would definitely do this race again.

  • Comments: This was one of my favorite races yet. The venue was terrific, the crowds were great. An overall good experience. I'll put this on my list in future years.

  • Comments: Fun race atmosphere. Could be better organized - 1/2 hour delay to start first wave, not enough water on the run course for the last wave. Would do it again though!

  • Comments: This is a good race, in a beautiful spot. Both bike & run go along the ocean and have spectacular views. Gary Hall, Jr competed (and has for past 3 years), The Hoyts were there, our US Senator Scott Brown competed, and overall a good crowd. One thing which mucked up the timing was giving out the timing chips race morning. Line backed up, and the event started 20 minutes late.

  • Comments: Well run race with lots of communication leading up to the race which was nice, specially for out of towers.

  • Comments: Nutrition: I should have finished my water bottle on the bike. I was also really hungry this morning, and probably would have been fine to eat an extra granola bar. This is a race I would love to do every year. I wasn't too nervous, and really had fun. My family was out to cheer me on, and I actually saw them and waved at each transition and finish line. I think this race will go a long way in boosting confidence at my other races this summer.

  • Comments: I had a great time and thought it was very well-organized. The transition area was all marked by number, so it was easy to find your stuff. Despite posts complaining about security, I did not experience any problems and it seemed as well-run as it could be. Cohasset is not the easiest triathlon to use as a first experience because of logistics - it is a huge field (over 900 signed up) and parking is off-site so you have to bike to the transition area. Still, I am glad I did it and I think my next tri will be easier for having done this one.

  • Comments: Well it's the best one I've ever done b/c it's the ONLY one I've done so far. I think the race went off a little bit later than planned but not too bad. Really fun! Saw a lot of people I knew from town and training. The race raises money for JDRF (juvenile diabetes research foundation) for type 1 diabetes, which I have so I think this will be a race I do annually from now on. Just a really fun tri for a good cause. Senator Scott Brown, Olympic swimmer Gary Hall, Jr (a type 1 diabetic himself), Olympic triathlete Jarrod Shoemaker and Dick and Rick Hoyt all raced which was very cool to see!

  • Comments: So the debacle with packet pick up, followed by parking in the morning - the volunteers put the car behind me literally 1 inch from my bumper. Uhm do you think he will mind if I walk on his hood to get my bike out? Really? I know they are volunteers but do they understand we are racing and have things like bicycles? They tried to have me on the bumper of the guy in front of me who had several bikes on the back of his car, so as they kept inching me up I pointed out the bike rack...then got out to find myself blocked from my stuff....then no water at finish....I think I am done with this race. The roads are ok (not as bad as New Hampshire), cars are stupid about how they integrate with racers on the open roads - so things were fine where there were police but not elsewhere... so overall I just feel that racers are not put first....seems attracting sponsors is....not what I want from a race.

  • Comments: They did a really great job of clearing the roads - I had biked the course last week and it was much clearer today. BUT the roads, which are narrow, were not closed except the very end and bikers and runners shared the road.... so would have been nice to have more volunteers along some of the narrow areas. Also, transition area not secure - someone had their bike computer taken. I still had fun - even if thoughts like 'why can't I just train? why do I need to race' went through my head during the run.

  • Comments: This was a really well organized race considering it was the first one. The course was extremely beautiful. I really hope they are able to do this tri again.
